Al Makan caught my eye due to its prime location near Riyadh Avenue Mall – a huge plus for those wanting to explore the city. My stay was a mixed bag. Yes, it’s budget-friendly, and the rooms are spacious, featuring a living room and kitchenette. This setup would typically suit someone who just needs a place to crash after a long day. Clean beds and a 24-hour reception added to the convenience. The condition of my room left much to be desired. Cockroaches and dusty air conditioning units were both unpleasant surprises. I appreciate budget options, especially for travelers who wish to save on accommodation to splurge on experiences, like finding the best dive sites in the Caribbean. Still, cleanliness and comfort should not be compromised. If you’re after a simple, cheap stay and are willing to overlook some of the less clean aspects of the property, Al Makan might work for you. Just keep your expectations in check.
